Dr. Thiago Scaramuzza has a rich background in equine veterinary medicine that began in his childhood in Brazil, where he helped his family work with cattle and ride horses. This early exposure fueled his passion for becoming an equine veterinarian. He earned his veterinary medical degree from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) in Jaboticabal, São Paulo, in 2007.
After completing his degree, Dr. Scaramuzza moved to the United States to undertake a one-year internship at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in Navasota, TX. His journey continued as he joined Weems and Stephens Equine Hospital in 2009 as a veterinary assistant. By 2016, he had become an associate veterinarian after acquiring his licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Texas, where he served until 2023.
Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, Dr. Scaramuzza is committed to providing exceptional care to a diverse clientele. His clinical interests encompass a wide range of areas, including dentistry, emergency care, and sports medicine, ensuring that he is well-equipped to address the various needs of your horse. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Scaramuzza enjoys traveling, cooking, and engaging in outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and mountain biking. He also makes it a point to visit Brazil a few times a year to spend time with his family and his son, Francisco.
